About Vancouver Dietitians

Katie MacDonald

Registered Dietitian

Katie MacDonald BSc, RD is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of
British Columbia. Katie grew up in Alberta and moved to Nova Scotia to complete her
Dietetics degree with honours and dietetic internship with Acadia University. Eager to
start her career, she moved back out West to work for Fraser Health and has been
loving it ever since. Katie has taken every opportunity to grow and diversify her skillset
through working in the hospital, outpatient clinics and home health care.

Katie is a weight-inclusive dietitian with experience in acute and chronic disease, eating disorders, cardiovascular disease, oncology, neurodegenerative diseases and digestive disorders. She is also trained on the use of a low FODMAP diet for IBS by Monash University. Katie has well-rounded experience, with her greatest passion being in digestive health as she views this as a central component of social, emotional, and
physical well being. As someone who has struggled herself with IBS, she knows how
isolating and confusing it can be not knowing what will trigger a flare up in symptoms and the feeling of lack of trust in your body. Since learning how to manage her symptoms with a multifaceted approach, she is motivated to help you do the same!
Katie can help you identify the root cause of the problem to help you make confident
food choices, restore your relationship with food and live a vibrant life.

Katie can translate nutrition science in a way that is fun and unique to you. She wants
you to leave her sessions feeling heard - striving to help you achieve your goals, your
way. She never passes up a chance to watch a sunset and when she is not working, you can catch her exploring the trails of beautiful BC.
