Chocolate Banana Brownies

Have you ever wanted banana bread AND brownies?! These Chocolate Banana Brownies are the best of both worlds. The sweet banana flavour combined with the rich chocolate makes for the tastiest brownie ever!! Plus these beauties have the perfect texture and are insanely moist because of the combo of banana, apple sauce, and coconut oil. Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 2 large + ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup oat flour

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt


Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F (175 C).

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add 1/2 cup of the dark chocolate chips and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.

  3. To the melted chocolate, add the mashed bananas, apple sauce, coconut oil, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Mix all together until well combined.

  4. To this bowl, add the oat flour, cocoa powder and salt. Mix together until just combined.

  5. Finally, fold in 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips.

  6. Pour the batter into a lined baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes (more or less depending on how fudgy you want them) and then let them cool completely.
