5-Minute Tofu Scramble

Tofu is not only a nutrient dense food, but a very versatile one at that! Tofu comes in a variety of textures and choosing the right firmness depends on what you want to use it for. Looking to blend tofu into your soups, sauces, or smoothies? Choose soft or silken tofu. Looking to bake or stir fry with tofu? Choose firm or extra firm, and make sure to press any extra water out! Tofu is a very bland food and will absorb whatever flavours you add to the dish - you can even try marinating tofu overnight for an improved flavour profile!

Ingredients
8 oz medium or firm tofu
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt + pepper to taste
Optional
Cherry tomatoes
Avocado
Sourdough toast (or bread of choice)
Hot sauce
Hemp hearts
Red pepper flakes
Recipe
Add avocado oil to a frying pan on medium-high heat
Use fingers to crumble tofu into pan
Add turmeric, salt, pepper and cook for 4-5 mins, occasionally stirring
We served our tofu scramble over avocado toast and topped with cherry tomatoes, hot sauce, hemp hearts and red pepper flakes
